Walking for Wellness

A chair based exercise class which includes a walking element.

Each class consists of chair exercises utilising all muscle groups. We start with a warm up to gently raise heart rate and warm individual muscle groups. We then run through different sets of exercises all of which use muscles that assist with walking.

While the group carry out specific exercises the instructor will take individual members for a walk to assess gait and give advice on any ways that this could be improved. It also gives a chance to discuss any individual issues which can then be addressed by the Physio team. The class finishes with a cool down and stretches.
