Michelle strides out for charity
The Swindon Therapy Centre for Multiple Sclerosis is to benefit from a £1,600 cash windfall thanks to a Nationwide employee. Michelle Leighton, 34, of Wootton Bassett, smashed her personal best when she ran 3 hours 37 minutes in Sunday's London Marathon (2006).
But Michelle was more thrilled to have raised so much for a charity she has taken to her heart. "I first got to hear about the therapy centre through work when we held the charity ball, which Nationwide sponsored," she said.
"The MS Centre was one of the beneficiaries, so I found out more about it and built up a relationship with the centre from there."
